A man has been sentenced to five years in prison with hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court. He was found guilty of defrauding people through a fake land sale.

The convict allegedly took large sums of money from several people. These buyers believed they were purchasing plots of land from him.

However, court documents show the man did not own the land he sold. He deceived the buyers, taking their money illegally.

The court found the actions to be fraudulent and a serious offense against the public.

This sentencing comes after a thorough judicial process where evidence was presented against the accused.

The Judicial Service assures citizens that such fraudulent activities will be met with appropriate legal action to deter others.
