A 45-year-old man named Kwabena Mensah is in court accused of fraud. He allegedly deceived a farmer out of GHS25,000.

The farmer reportedly gave the money believing Mensah would secure a government contract for him. Mensah pleaded not guilty when the charges were read in Accra.

He appeared before an Accra Circuit Court. The court heard details of the alleged transaction.

Prosecutors stated that Mensah used promises of a government contract to obtain the money. The farmer believed this was a legitimate business opportunity.

The amount in question is GHS25,000. This significant sum was allegedly obtained through false pretences.

Mensah’s plea of not guilty means the case will proceed to a full trial. The court will hear evidence from both sides.

The incident highlights the risks individuals may face when engaging in business dealings based on unverified claims.

Further court proceedings are expected to reveal more details about the case.
