Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a 35-year-old man. He is accused of pretending to be a police officer.

The suspect allegedly approached a businessman with a promise of a profitable contract. This promise led the businessman to pay GH₵20,000.

After receiving the money, the suspect reportedly vanished. The businessman then reported the matter to the Ghana Police Service.

The Ashanti Region police launched an investigation following the report. They were able to apprehend the suspect shortly after.

He is currently in police custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the alleged fraud and impersonation.
