A man has been arrested in Kumasi in connection with an alleged fraud scheme. The suspect allegedly posed as a secretary to President Akufo-Addo.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Yaw Owusu, also used the name Frank Owusu. He was taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service.
Authorities say Owusu approached unsuspecting teachers. He reportedly promised them employment opportunities within the government.
As part of the scam, Owusu is alleged to have asked the teachers for various sums of money. He claimed these payments were necessary for securing the promised jobs.
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the alleged fraud.
