Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a 35-year-old man named Nana Kwabena Boateng. He is accused of defrauding several individuals.

The total amount allegedly defrauded is GHS2 million. This according to the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

Authorities stated that the suspect allegedly presented himself as a gold dealer. He reportedly promised individuals large profits on their investments.

Many people believed his promises and gave him their money. They were expecting to receive significant returns.

However, these promises were not fulfilled. The investors allege they were defrauded of their funds.

The Ghana Police Service is continuing its investigation into the matter.
