Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a 42-year-old man in Kumasi. He is accused of defrauding a woman of GHC 50,000.
The suspect allegedly promised the victim a chance to invest money in a business. This opportunity was not real.
The woman reported the incident to the police. Officers from the Ashanti Regional Police Command investigated the claims.
Following the investigation, police apprehended the suspect. He is currently in police custody.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the man was arrested based on evidence gathered.
Further investigations are underway to ascertain the full extent of the alleged fraud.
