Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a man suspected of defrauding numerous workers.
The arrest was made by the Ashanti Regional Police. The suspect is accused of running a fake investment scheme.
Over 500 Ghanaian workers are reported to have been defrauded. The total amount allegedly lost is around GH₵2 million.
The suspect reportedly promised high profits for investments. These promised returns never materialized for the victims.
The Ghana Police Service is continuing its investigation into the alleged fraud.
Further legal action is expected following the completion of the police investigation.
