A journalist named Kingsley Awatey is in police custody. The 29-year-old appeared before the Nsuta Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Awatey pleaded guilty to defrauding a student nurse. He is accused of taking GHC23,700 from the student.
The money was allegedly promised for a spiritual cleansing ritual. The court heard that the student nurse sought help for her problems.
Awatey, who works for Alpha Radio in Kumasi, was remanded. He will return to court on a later date.
