A 69-year-old German widow is asking the Special Prosecutor for help. Ms Waltraud Wiesent wants to recover €248,000 she lost.
She was defrauded in a fake gold deal. Two Nigerian men were convicted of the crime in 2015. The Accra Circuit Court ordered them to pay back the money.
Ms Wiesent has now appealed to the Special Prosecutor, Mr Kissi Agyebeng. She wants him to investigate the case further.
She also wants the Special Prosecutor to help confiscate properties belonging to the convicted men.
The court's order for the men to pay back the money has not yet been fully enforced.
Ms Wiesent hopes the Special Prosecutor's office can ensure the recovery of her funds.
