An 80-year-old woman has been deceived and lost GHS 50,000 to an online scam artist.
The woman was led to believe she had won a lottery. The scammer then reportedly asked her for money to process the winnings.
She sent the money as requested but never received any lottery winnings. This is a clear case of fraud.
The Ghana Police Service is looking for the suspect. The suspect is currently at large following the incident.
Authorities are urging the public to be cautious of online schemes offering rewards.
