The Cyber Security Authority is warning the public about dangerous online investment scams. These scams have caused significant financial losses for many people.

Between January and June of 2026, victims lost over GH¢3.4 million. This is according to a public advisory released by the Authority on Monday, July 6.

The Authority recorded a total of 352 cases of online investment fraud during this six-month period. The collective amount lost by victims sums up to GH¢3,429,447.

These fraudsters often promise high returns on investments to lure unsuspecting individuals. Once money is sent, the scammers disappear, leaving victims with nothing.

The Cyber Security Authority urges citizens to exercise extreme caution when considering online investment opportunities. It is important to verify the legitimacy of any investment platform before committing funds.
