Police in Accra have arrested a Ghanaian man. He is accused of defrauding a Lebanese businessman.

The arrest comes after the businessman reported the alleged fraud. The suspect is said to have taken GHC150,000.

Authorities allege the suspect promised to secure a mining license for the businessman. This was reportedly done without lawful authority.

The Lebanese businessman paid the money believing he would receive a legitimate license. The suspect allegedly failed to deliver.

Accra police took the suspect into custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Further details are expected as the Ghana Police Service continues to gather evidence.
