The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two men for unlawfully possessing firearms. The arrests were made during a routine stop-and-search operation.
The incident occurred in the Jamestown area of Accra. Police officers were conducting their regular checks when they encountered the two suspects.
Upon searching the individuals, unregistered firearms were discovered. The police promptly took the suspects into custody.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the seized weapons will undergo further ballistic analysis. This is to determine if they have been used in any previous criminal activities.
Authorities have confirmed that the two arrested individuals will face charges related to illegal possession of arms. This is in accordance with Ghanaian law.
