Two people have been arrested by the Volta Regional Police Command. They are accused of trying to smuggle a large amount of Indian hemp into Ghana. The suspects were caught near the border between Ghana and Togo.

The police discovered 175.6 kilograms of Indian hemp in their possession. This operation was part of ongoing efforts to stop illegal drug trafficking in the region.

The arrests highlight the continuous challenge of controlling the movement of illegal drugs across Ghana's borders. Authorities have intercepted significant quantities of narcotics in recent months.

The suspects are currently in police custody. They will face legal proceedings following the completion of the investigation.

This action by the police aims to disrupt drug smuggling networks operating in the Volta Region.
