Police in Accra have arrested two individuals suspected of possessing drugs. The arrests happened on Krokrobite Beach Road.
The two men are aged 32 and 26. One is a driver and the other is unemployed. They were found with a significant amount of dried cannabis.
Authorities reported that the total weight of the cannabis seized was 18 kilograms. This discovery was made during a random road check. The police intercepted the vehicle carrying the alleged drugs.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrests. They stated the operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Both individuals were taken into police custody. They are currently assisting with investigations into the source and intended destination of the cannabis.
The seized cannabis will be processed as evidence. The suspects will face charges in court if the investigation proves their involvement.
