Police in Tema have arrested two men for allegedly smuggling drugs. Godwin Asigeh, the driver, and Freeman Amedoku were caught with a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp.
The arrests happened early this morning during a police operation. Officers were conducting a snap-check at Dawhenya, near Prampram.
The suspects were found in a Ford Transit Van. The vehicle had the registration number GT 6140-22.
Inside the van, police discovered 692 parcels. These parcels contained what is believed to be Indian hemp.
The Tema Regional Command is holding the two men. They are currently in police custody.
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident. They aim to uncover the source and destination of the suspected drugs.
