The Volta Regional Police have arrested two men. They were caught trying to smuggle cannabis into Togo.
The suspects were intercepted at a checkpoint. They were found with approximately 100 kilograms of dried cannabis.
The Ghana Police Service stated that the operation aimed to prevent illegal cross-border trade of narcotics.
Further investigations are underway by the police to determine the full extent of the smuggling operation.
The seized cannabis will be processed as evidence in the ongoing legal proceedings.
