Two people have been arrested by the Volta Regional Police. They are accused of trying to smuggle a large amount of suspected narcotics.
Police officers intercepted the suspects during a normal check. This happened near the border between the Volta Region and the Eastern Region.
The seized items were compressed dried leaves. Officials suspect they are Indian hemp. The total weight is about 200 kilograms.
The suspects were taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
