Three individuals are being held by the authorities in the Ashanti Region. A court has ordered them to remain in custody.

The men face serious accusations. These include taking part in illegal mining activities, often called galamsey.

They are also charged with attacking police officers. This happened while the officers were carrying out their duties.

The suspects allegedly prevented the police from doing their job. They are also accused of causing harm to the law enforcement officers.

A court in Asanko heard the case and made the decision for remand.

The legal process will now continue. Further court dates will be set for the case.

Illegal mining remains a significant environmental and security concern in Ghana.

The Ghana Police Service continues to work to stop these activities and ensure officer safety.
