Volta Regional Police have arrested three individuals. They are accused of trying to smuggle a large amount of cannabis into Ghana. The suspects were apprehended at a police checkpoint.
About 500 kilograms of cannabis was found. This is a significant quantity of the drug.
The police command in the Volta Region made the seizure.
The suspects are being held by the police. Further investigations are underway regarding the source and intended destination of the cannabis.
