Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, the Member of Parliament for Madina, has called for a thorough investigation into a major cocaine seizure. French authorities intercepted nearly 3.9 tons of the drug.

The cocaine consignment is valued at approximately $260 million. The seizure occurred on September 10 by French customs officers.

Mr. Sosu expressed concern that this incident could damage Ghana's standing internationally. He is demanding a full probe into how the drugs were transported.

Details about the origin and intended destination of the cocaine are still emerging. The Member of Parliament is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Authorities are expected to provide more information as the investigation progresses. The large quantity of drugs seized highlights ongoing challenges in combating international drug trafficking.
