The Ghana Police Service in the Bono East Region has arrested a man carrying drugs. The suspect, Robert Tannor, is 48 years old.
Police made the arrest on March 8, 2026. The incident happened in Techiman after a road crash involving Tannor's rickshaw.
Officers inspecting the rickshaw found a hidden quantity of suspected narcotics. The drugs were concealed inside bags of charcoal.
A total of 397 slabs of dried plant material, believed to be cannabis, were recovered.
The Bono East Regional Police Command confirmed the arrest and the seizure.
The rickshaw rider is now in police custody. Investigations into the source and intended destination of the drugs are ongoing.
