Police in the Volta Region have seized a substantial amount of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana. The seizure occurred after officers intercepted a vehicle carrying the substance.
Approximately 500 kilograms of the suspected illicit material were found in the vehicle.
During the police operation, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the scene.
The Volta Regional Police Command stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing to apprehend the driver and determine the source of the drugs.
This operation is part of efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking in the region.
