Police in the Ashanti Region have stopped a large amount of cannabis from reaching Accra. The vehicle was found carrying 50 bags of dried cannabis.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command made the interception. The drugs were believed to be destined for Accra.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene. They are currently assisting police with their ongoing investigation.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet released further details on the motive behind the attempted smuggling.
This seizure is part of efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
