Police in Odumase Krobo have refused a bribe of GH¢200,000. The money was offered by suspects arrested in relation to a large seizure of suspected fake United States dollar notes.
The discovery was made at Odumase Laasi. Authorities found 105 bundles of what appeared to be counterfeit US dollar bills.
The suspected fake currency was hidden inside a metal trunk. The amount of the bribe offered to officers was GH¢200,000.
Police officers rejected the bribe. They continued their investigation into the counterfeit money.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed the incident. Details about the suspects and a formal count of the counterfeit money are part of ongoing investigations.
