Customs officers at the Aflao border have seized a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs. The seizure involved approximately 2,000 cartons.
The cartons contained dried leaves. Officials believe these leaves are cannabis, commonly called 'wee' in Ghana.
The Ghana Revenue Authority Customs Division, Aflao Sector Command, made the interception. This operation happened at the country's border.
Authorities are investigating the seizure. Further tests will confirm the exact nature of the substance.
This action is part of ongoing efforts to control the flow of illicit substances across Ghana's borders.
