Two people have been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command. They were caught with 692 parcels of suspected Indian hemp.

The arrest happened at Dawhenya in the Prampram Division. Police conducted a surprise check operation.

The operation took place early Tuesday, September 8, 2026. It was around 12:45 a.m. when officers stopped a vehicle.

The vehicle was a Ford Transit van. It was heading towards Accra. Police found the suspected drugs inside the vehicle.

The two suspects were immediately arrested at the scene. They are now in police custody.

The Tema Regional Police Command confirmed the operation. They stated that investigations are ongoing.

The seized items were secured as evidence. The police are working to determine the origin and destination of the drugs.
