National Security operatives intercepted a significant quantity of suspected cocaine at the border between Ghana and Ivory Coast. Adom Online reports that the operation resulted in the discovery of several parcels of the illicit substance hidden inside a commercial vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly transporting bags of fertilizer at the time of the seizure in the Western Region.

The interception followed a targeted operation by security agencies monitoring cross border movements according to details provided by Adom Online. Preliminary findings suggest that the suspected narcotics were carefully concealed beneath the legal cargo to evade detection during border checks. The exact weight and street value of the seized substance remain under evaluation by the Narcotics Control Commission.

Officers from the Ghana Police Service and National Security are currently conducting further investigations to identify the owner of the truck and the source of the shipment. While Adom Online reports the interception occurred near the ELubo border post no official charges have been announced against specific individuals at this stage of the inquiry. The driver of the vehicle is expected to assist the police with their ongoing investigations.

The Narcotic Control Commission and the Ghana Police Service have not yet released a formal joint statement regarding the total number of arrests made during the operation. Security at the western land borders has been heightened following this discovery to prevent similar smuggling attempts. All seized materials have been transported to Accra for forensic laboratory testing to confirm the exact nature of the chemical compounds.
