The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has increased its surveillance efforts at Kotoka International Airport. This includes more behavioral detection work by NACOC officers.
The NACOC Canine (K9) Unit is working with the Enforcement Unit based at the airport. Their joint operations aim to find and stop illegal drug activities.
These intensified efforts have resulted in the seizure of controlled drugs. The seized drugs include pethidine and morphine.
A NACOC spokesperson stated that the increased operations are part of Ghana's ongoing fight against drug trafficking. The commission focuses on preventing drugs from entering or leaving the country.
