Major-General Maxwell Obuba Mantey, who leads the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), has called for better cooperation between African countries.
He said this is needed to fight the increasing trade of synthetic drugs and cocaine across the continent.
Mantey explained that drug trafficking groups are now working in multiple countries at the same time.
This makes it very difficult for any single country to effectively stop their activities on its own.
The NACOC Director-General stressed that a united approach is essential to dismantle these cross-border criminal networks.
He believes stronger collaboration will help share information and resources to combat the drug trade more effectively.
