Airport authorities have arrested a 37-year-old man named Emmanuel Kwabena Ofori. He was apprehended at Kotoka International Airport.
The Narcotics Control Commission is holding the suspect. He was caught during normal screening procedures in the arrivals section of the airport.
Officials state that Ofori was allegedly attempting to smuggle 1.19 kilograms of dried cannabis. It is suspected that the substance is cocaine.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking through Ghana's main international gateway.
