Two people are in police custody in Koforidua. They were arrested for allegedly possessing illegal drugs.

The arrested individuals are a 31-year-old driver and a 20-year-old trader. The Ghana Police Service apprehended them.

During the arrest, officers found 15 parcels. These contained dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, also known as marijuana.

The operation took place at the Okorong Central Commercial area. This is according to a Ghana Police Service report.

The arrests happened on Thursday, May 23, 2024. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

This action is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime in the region.
