The Ghana Immigration Service successfully stopped an attempt to smuggle a large amount of dried cannabis into the country. The seizure took place at the Kpoglo Border Post in the Volta Region.

Officers on duty found approximately 600 kilograms of the substance. This discovery happened on May 15, 2026.

During the operation, two men were arrested. They are believed to be connected to the smuggling attempt.

The suspects have been taken into police custody. Further investigations are ongoing.
