Four people are in police custody following the discovery of a large amount of marijuana in the Ashanti Region. The suspects were apprehended during a police operation.
The arrest happened when officers stopped a vehicle on a road leading to Kumasi. Upon searching the vehicle, police found approximately 200 kilograms of dried marijuana.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed the seizure and the subsequent arrests. The operation aimed to disrupt the flow of illegal substances in the region.
The four individuals are currently undergoing interrogation at a police facility. Detectives are seeking to understand the source and intended destination of the drugs.
This seizure is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking across the country.
Authorities stated that investigations are continuing to identify any other individuals involved in the network.
