The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has shut down three facilities in Nungua. This action was taken because the businesses were allegedly selling regulated products illegally.

The FDA worked with the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service on this operation. This happened after many months of investigation into the businesses.

Officials found that the facilities were selling nitrous oxide, a gas often called "laughing gas." This substance is regulated by the FDA.

The Authority also discovered the unauthorized sale of Benylin medicine. It was apparently mixed and sold without proper approval.

The closure is part of the FDA's efforts to ensure public safety. They are working to stop the circulation of harmful or unapproved products.

The public is advised to be cautious about where they purchase regulated products. The FDA urges citizens to report any suspicious sales.
