Authorities in Sri Lanka have arrested 22 Buddhist monks following the discovery of a significant quantity of cannabis hidden in their luggage. The illicit substance was found as the monks returned from Thailand.
The operation, which involved the seizure of approximately 110 kilograms of cannabis, highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking. The monks were reportedly apprehended upon arrival, with investigations into the origin and intended destination of the drugs now underway.
