Twenty-one suspects were brought before the Tamale Circuit Court on Monday, March 9, 2026. This follows their arrest by the Northern Regional Counter-Terrorism Unit’s Special Operations Team.

The accused individuals face several charges related to illegal drug activities. These include using narcotic drugs without lawful authority.

They are also charged with the possession of narcotic drugs. Another charge is the prohibited sale of restricted drugs.

During the court session, five of the accused persons admitted to the charges against them. The court heard their pleas.

Further legal proceedings will continue for the remaining suspects. The charges stem from operations conducted by the police in the Northern Region.
