A 47-year-old woman has been arrested in Akyem Koforidua. She is accused of burying her newborn grandchild alive.
The woman, identified as Akua Abrokwaa, was arrested along with her 20-year-old daughter, Ernestina Asare. Asare is the mother of the newborn.
The arrests took place in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region.
The Ghana Police Service is investigating the incident.
