This action followed a report made on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Selasie Kwaku Anthonio, a 43-year-old Uber driver, filed the complaint.
The complaint was made to the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team. It concerned a viral post published on Snapchat.
The Snapchat post included a photograph of the Uber driver. It also contained serious false accusations about him.
Ms. Asamani was apprehended by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team. The team investigates online criminal activities.
She has since been granted police enquiry bail. This allows police to continue their investigation into the matter.
Authorities are investigating the full circumstances of the alleged false publication.
