Police have arrested a 20-year-old woman for spreading false information on social media.
Promise Yayra Asamani was taken into custody by the IGP’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
The arrest followed a complaint made on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. A 43-year-old Uber driver named Selasie Kwaku Anthonio reported the incident.
The driver stated that a Snapchat post containing his photograph and untrue claims went viral.
Asamani was subsequently charged with publishing false news.
She has been granted police enquiry bail while investigations are ongoing.
The Ghana Police Service is continuing its work on the case.
