Police have arrested a 20-year-old woman named Promise Yayra Asamani. She is accused of publishing false information on social media platforms.
The arrest followed a complaint from a 43-year-old Uber driver, Selasie Kwaku Anthonio. He reported the incident to the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police Service.
The complaint was made on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Mr. Anthonio stated that a viral Snapchat post contained his photograph and false information.
The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team is part of the Ghana Police Service. Their work includes investigating online crimes.
Ms. Asamani is currently in police custody. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the publication.
