Police have arrested a 20-year-old woman for false publication on social media. Promise Yayra Asamani was taken into custody by the Inspector-General of Police's Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

The arrest followed a report made to the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Selasie Kwaku Anthonio, a 43-year-old Uber driver, filed the complaint.

Mr. Anthonio alerted the police about a viral post on Snapchat. The post allegedly used his photograph without his permission.

The Ghana Police Service has charged Ms. Asamani with false publication. The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team is responsible for monitoring and addressing online criminal activities.
