Police have arrested a 20-year-old woman, Promise Yayra Asamani, for allegedly spreading false information online. The arrest was made by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

The issue began on March 11, 2026, when Selasie Kwaku Anthonio, an Uber driver aged 43, filed a complaint. He reported a viral post on Snapchat that included his photograph.
