A 20-year-old woman named Promise Yayra Asamani has been given police enquiry bail.
She was arrested by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
The team investigates online crimes and enforces digital safety.
Asamani is accused of publishing false news on social media.
The incident began when Selasie Kwaku Anthonio, a 43-year-old Uber driver, reported a complaint.
He went to the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Anthonio stated that a Snapchat post featuring his photograph was shared online.
The post falsely accused him of being a murderer.
