Police have arrested a woman for spreading false information online. The suspect is identified as 20-year-old Promise Yayra Asamani.
She is accused of publishing false news on social media. This action was reported to the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
The report was made by Selasie Kwaku Anthonio, a 43-year-old Uber driver. This occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Mr. Anthonio stated that a viral Snapchat post featured his photograph. The post wrongly accused him of being a murderer.
Law enforcement officers from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team apprehended Ms. Asamani.
She has since been granted police enquiry bail. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
