Police have arrested a 23-year-old student named Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford. The arrest was made by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Inspector-General of Police.
Hayford is accused of publishing obscene material online. This is against the law according to section 280 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The arrest happened after police found private videos being shared on social media platforms. This discovery was part of a routine check.
