The government is introducing new measures to combat mobile money fraud. These measures involve re registering all SIM cards.
Minister of Communication and Digitalisation Samuel Nartey George said this plan aims to stop fraudsters.
He explained that these new rules will make their illegal activities very expensive to carry out.
Minister George also stated that fraudsters caught will not be able to access any government services.
This is part of efforts to secure digital financial transactions in the country.
The ministry expects the re registration process to be rolled out soon.
