Police have arrested Promise Yayra Asamani, aged 20. She is accused of spreading false news on social media. The arrest was made by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
The complaint came from Selasie Kwaku Anthonio, a 43-year-old Uber driver. He reported the matter to the authorities on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Mr. Anthonio stated that a post on Snapchat shared his photograph. This post contained false information.
Ms. Asamani was granted police enquiry bail. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
