The Ghana Police Service has arrested three people suspected of running an online scam syndicate. The operation was based in Accra.
The arrest was made by the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service. They took down the syndicate that was operating online.
During the operation, police recovered GH₵50,000. This money is thought to be the earnings from the suspects illegal scamming activities.
The suspects are currently in police custody. Investigations are ongoing to find out if there are more victims of this scam.
The police are working to understand the full scope of the syndicate's operations.
