Minister of Communication and Digitalisation, Samuel Nartey George, has stated that the upcoming SIM re-registration process will make mobile money fraud considerably more expensive for criminals.

He explained that individuals involved in mobile money fraud will face severe consequences if caught.

According to the Minister, these fraudsters will be unable to access any government services.

The new registration requirements aim to better identify SIM card owners.

This identification process is expected to deter individuals planning to use SIM cards for illegal activities.

The Ministry believes this will contribute to a safer digital financial ecosystem.

Further details on the registration process will be made public soon.
